WHAT BROW THERAPY TECHNIQUE IS BEST FOR YOU?
Microblading, Ombre Powder or Hybrid?

Ombre Powder Brow

OMBRÉ POWDER BROW

IDEAL SKIN TYPE: Good for all skin types
SERVICE TIME: 2.5 - 3 hours
LONGEVITY: 1 to 3 years

The Ombré Brow is the newest shading technique. It is different from traditional tattooing in that it is surface work. This means, the application is done on the epidermis layer of the skin using a machine. This method creates pixilated dots to mimic powder filled brows with no harsh fronts or outlines. The Ombré technique is minimally invasive, great for all skin types, last longer and can be buildable from light to dark. It is 100% customizable and is great for anyone who wants a soft natural look to someone who wants a very defined bold brow. The healed results look very different from the “after”.

MICROBLADING

IDEAL SKIN TYPE: Dry & Normal
SERVICE TIME: 2.5 - 3 hours
LONGEVITY: 9 months to 1.5 years

Microblading is a cosmetic tattoo technique that’s different from traditional tattooing because the application is done on the epidermis layer of the skin. 3D hair like strokes are created using a tool that scratches the top layer of skin with microfine needles to add pigment into the skin. This technique is not for all skin types. There are very few people who are good candidates for this type of technique. The best candidate has normal to dry skin, small pores, smooth and not sun damaged. Mature skin is not a good candidate. If you are not a good candidate for Microblading, the Ombre Powder or Hybrid would be ideal for you.

Hybrid Brow

HYBRID BROW

IDEAL SKIN TYPE: Dry, Combination & Normal
SERVICE TIME: 2.5 - 3 hours
LONGEVITY: 1 to 3 years

The Hybrid Brow technique (also known as a combination brow) is the perfect combination of both Ombré brows and Microblading. This method uses both manual (Microblading) and machine techniques (Ombre Powder) to create natural strokes with a soft, powdery makeup finish. If you have combination skin and want the Microblading look, the Hybrid brow is the best technique for you. The Hybrid allows those who love the Microblading look but aren’t good candidates due to combination skin, large pores, sun damaged or mature skin.

Before and After Ombre Brow

Why has the Ombré Brow become the next technique replacing Microblading?…..

  1. LESS INVASIVE: Ombré Powder brows are achieved using a machine that places fine dots of pigments evenly into the skin in a shading technique. Microblading uses a hand-tool that creates incisions or small cuts into the skin. Over time, repeated incisions into the same spots will cause trauma to the skin more quickly. I do not recommend anyone to do Microblading more than 3-4 times in their life time. For those Artist who tell you there is no scaring if done correctly are lying! Just because you don’t see scaring it doesn’t mean there isn’t any trauma below.

  2. LESS PAIN & BLEEDING: Ombré powder brows are less painful due to the shading technique I apply, which creates less trauma to the skin vs. the blading technique of Microblading that creates cuts into the skin, thus more bleeding is involved. With ombré powder brows, minimal to zero blood surfaces during the procedure. Some clients say that getting ombré powder brows is a similar feeling to an electric toothbrush pressed against the skin or rapid tweezing. Some discomfort is to be expected since a needle is being used.

  3. LASTS LONGER: Results do vary based on lifestyle, skin type, health, boldness preferences, etc., but a single ombré powder brows session, using high-quality pigments, can last on average 1-3 years. Microblading, has a high likelihood of healing blotchy or with blurred strokes. This requires for the Microblading technique to have more frequent touch-ups, which in return causes more long term wear and tear on the skin, eventually maxing out the skin’s lifetime capacity quickly. Like any injury to the skin, the body repairs the wounded area by building collagen fibers, creating a scar. Both treatments will eventually dull out the skin in this way permanently, so choosing the right method to save your skin integrity is critical.

  4. GREAT FOR ALL SKIN TYPES: Ombré powder brows are great for any skin type, unlike microblading, which is not suitable for those with large pores, oily and mature skin. Microblading on oily skin requires several touch-ups, which causes more trauma to the skin.

  5. STILL LOOKS NATURAL: While ombré powder brows have a more “filled-in” look, the healed results appear like softly shaded brow pencil or powder. Immediately after the treatment, ombré powder brows can appear more bold & saturated, but brows will fade 20-40%, leaving a very soft powdery finish and shape as the end result.
